Welcome To The Website For The Eccles And District Group Of Lodges And Chapters In The Province Of West Lancashire.
May I thank you for visiting our Website and I hope that it will be useful and informative both to Masons and non-Masons who wish to expand their interest in all aspects of Freemasonry.
Our Group is made up of eighteen Lodges and five Chapters and, at present, has a membership of around 422 and is continuing to grow in number. We have two meeting places within the Group at Elm Bank Masonic Hall, Eccles and Swinton Masonic Hall.
Freemasonry is well established in this area with our oldest Lodge being 140 years old, but although some traditions have been upheld over the years, (such as the presentation of ‘Eccles Cakes’ to distinguished guests!!!!!!) we are continuing to move with modern times which is clearly seen here on our new Website.
It has been designed to be user-friendly and I hope that it will encourage you to become more involved with the Group either as a Lodge or Chapter member or as a visitor. All our Lodge and Chapter meetings are listed as well as the many social events which are taking place at both Group and Provincial level. These social events have a warm and friendly atmosphere and our ‘Ladies’, family and friends are most welcome. If you are not a Mason, I hope our Website will raise your awareness of Freemasonry and what it truly stands for. If this is the case and you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are very approachable and sociable men who would be only too happy to talk to you on a more personal level. Any questions and/or contact details can be left on the relevant pages.
Once again thank you for sharing your time with us and I hope you enjoy your visit to the Website of the Eccles and District Group.
Regards
Stuart J Shea
